Despite a looming budget shortfall, California is still home to considerable wealth, providing an opportunity to ensure that every resident has a roof over their head, access to food, and a safety net to fall on.
It’s time for real solutions that prioritize the well-being of Californians and their families, not budget cuts. We must make the case for bold solutions that prioritize the health and well-being of our people. This includes crafting and calling out antiracist policies, centering Black, brown, and other historically underrepresented voices, and ending discriminatory practices of the past once and for all.
Join us at the California Budget & Policy Center’s annual conference — Policy Insights — where we bring together the state’s policy community to share transformative ideas and strategize about our pathways toward creating a more inclusive state. Together, we can develop effective public policies that build a government of care, work towards ending poverty and inequality, and create opportunity in California. We invite you to be part of this journey!
